22 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Aug. 30

Tap takeovers, a few very limited beer releases and even a movie screening highlight an extremely busy beer week in Milwaukee.

Mark the halfway point to Wückfinter VI at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) from 4 to 10 p.m. The Gallery is giving over the taps to 3 Floyds Brewing and WarPigs.

Barre & Brews is a barre class on the rooftop of Pilot Project Brewing (1128 N. 9th St.). The 50-minute workout starts at 5:30 p.m. The $30 entry gets you a free beer after your workout.

Moody Tongue Brewing is bringing a few of its well-crafter brews to The Tap Yard – Brookfield (2925 N. Barker Rd.), The Tap Yard – Waukesha (1927 E. Sunset Dr.), The Tap Yard – West Bend (4875 County Rd. Z) and The Tap Yard – Milwaukee (1555 N. River Center Dr.).

The Tap Yard – Milwaukee is also hosting a Paint & Sip where participants get to paint the Hoan Bridge from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $30.

Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) is hosting Beer & Cheese School from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The $40 ticket includes six beer and cheese pairings, and the knowledge behind them.

Lorem Sipsum, a saison made with Belgian yeast and Michigan-grown hops, is the weekly release at 1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.).

Sprecher Brewing’s Traveling Beer Garden ends its summer tour at Sheridan Park (4800 S Lake Dr., Cudahy). Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends and holidays. The beer garden wraps things up on Labor Day.

There’s a lot going on at Supermoon Beer Company (3145 S. Howell Ave.). The Cellar Sessions event begins at 6:30 p.m. and is highlighted by a screening of Bottle Conditioned, a documentary exploring the past and current state of lambic and farmhouse ale brewing. The $50 ticket gets you a welcome sample of Single Barrel 021 farmhouse ale, an advance release bottle of Many Phases Blend 005, and delicious charcuterie courtesy of Frannie’s Market. That’s not all. Michael Kiser will be there hosting a live Good Beer Hunting podcast. And talented guest brewers Jacob Sembrano, from Chicago’s outstanding Cruz Blanca Brewery, and Matt Sampson, founder of Sway Brewing + Blending in Door County, will be in attendance for a Q&A session.

Trillium Brewing Company is re-releasing its Headroom Double IPA, and Ray’s Growler Gallery is lucky enough to have some. Try a hazy from one of East Coast’s bests from 4 to 10 p.m.

Member/owners at New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. 1st St.) get the chance to pick hops straight of the bine at the Happy Hour and Hop Pickin’ Party from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

It’s Fall Fest all weekend at The Tap Yard – Waukesha. The event kicks off from 4 to 9 p.m. with a tap takeover from Lakefront Brewery, live music and food.

The Fox Point Beer Garden (7040-7098 Santa Monica Blvd.) is happening from 4 to 8 p.m. Residents of Fox Point get $1 off of each beer, provided by New Barons Brewing Co-op.

1840 Brewing Company’s Beer Garden Road Show makes a stop at Mequon Community Park (11345 Cedarburg Rd.) from 4 to 8 p.m.

Try samples of Hinterland Brewery’s Oktoberfest and IPA at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 4 to 5 p.m.

Toppling Goliath is offering samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from 3 to 6 p.m.

Start the day with a bacon, beer and a run at Bacon5Kegs happening at Lake Vista Park (4001 E. Lakeside Ave., Oak Creek). The 5K starts at 10 a.m. (packet pickup is from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.) and is followed by an after party with complimentary beer and bacon.

Fall Fest continues at The Tap Yard – Waukehsa from noon to 10 p.m. with a Toppling Goliath tap takeover. The big highlight is a 2023 Assassin Barrel-Aged Stout that will be tapped at 4:30 p.m. alongside a barrel-aged Term Oil Coffee Stout.

If you still feel like running, the Wisconsin Brewery Running Series comes to Ope! Brewing Co. (6751 W. National Ave.). The casual 5K run starts at 11 a.m. and cost to participate is $35. The fee, and your 3.1 miles, earns you a free beer after you cross the finish line.

It’s Pumpkin Beer Day at The Tap Yard – Milwaukee. So a few of the taps will be featuring some fall favorites.

New Barons Brewing Co-op is releasing Handsome Beer Italian Pilsner from 6 to 10 p.m.

Cheers to Company Brewing (735 E. Center St.) for creating events focused on kids. The latest Little Brewers Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. lets children create clay pinch pots, with the help of Yours Truly. There will also a be a slime station at Company, which is cool.

The Beer Garden Road Show swings by Ellsworth Park (600 East Ellsworth Ln., Bayside) from noon to 7 p.m.
